Seeing the True Colors of People When You’re Experiencing Trauma

The true colors of loved ones, friends, and strangers come to life when you’re experiencing a major life event, trauma or grief. That itself can add another layer of hurt and betrayal that then needs its own healing. I don’t know why people choose to do this to those in pain. It’s likely their own stuff (ego, insecurities, entitlement) being deflected, but whatever it is, it’s not helpful to anyone.

I don’t know why people choose to do this to those in pain. It’s likely their own stuff (ego, insecurities, entitlement) being deflected, but whatever it is, it’s not helpful to anyone. I am still recovering from the worst criticism, blame, judgment, and vitriol I’ve ever received for the traumatic event that was placed onto my children and me BY CHOICE.

Those people and energy? BYE. Gotta say bye.

BUT then there were those few, beautiful souls that were brave enough to listen. Who looked me in the eyes. Who showed up. Who could see and feel the truth without a word. Who were still there after I climbed the mountain. Who knew my heart. Who have always loved my boys and I.

REAL LOVE IS THAT KIND OF 💛 AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR IT.

Thank you for stating the obvious…I have tried to talk myself into all the reasons why people did this to me and you put it into words so perfectly, thank you…❤️
